The BJP has launched a fortnight-long nationwide campaign, “Sewa Pakhwada”, to mark the Prime Minister’s birthday, featuring health camps, cleanliness drives, intellectual gatherings, and fairs to promote indigenous products, continuing until October 2.According to information,PM Modi himself is set to travel to Dhar in Madhya Pradesh to kick off a campaign focused on health and nutrition for women and children, besides launching development initiatives targeting the tribal population.
Leaders across the political spectrum also wished the Prime Minister. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hailed Modi’s “visionary leadership, dedication and untiring hard work,” saying he had enhanced India’s global standing while working for the welfare of the poor. BJP president J.P. Nadda credited Modi with taking transformative steps to build an “aatmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat,” while Union Minister Nitin Gadkari called him “the world’s most popular leader” and wished for India to emerge as a self-reliant “vishwaguru.”
Born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, Modi is the third-longest serving prime minister in India’s history after Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, and the second in terms of uninterrupted tenure. Since leading the BJP to its first Lok Sabha majority in 2014, he has consolidated the party’s dominance in national politics. Though the BJP fell short of a majority in the 2024 general elections, Modi has since overseen a political recovery with key assembly victories in Haryana and Maharashtra.
