China has arrested three persons for publishing online comments which were considered false and insulting towards the PLA soldiers, who fought in the China-India border clash at Galwan eight months ago. As reported by Chinese state media citing a statement by the local police, a 25-year-old person surnamed Yang was sent to seven days of detention in Sichuan's Mianyang area on Sunday for having posted smears toward the PLA soldiers, who fought in the China-India border clash.Another 28-year-old person surnamed Chen, was arrested in Beijing for publishing insulting comments in a group chat about the PLA soldiers who died in the Galwan Valley clash, a notice published on the official WeChat account of the Beijing police on Sunday said. The case is undergoing further investigation.A third person, an online blogger was arrested by police in Nanjing in East China's Jiangsu Province, detained, surnamed Qiu and known as Labixiaoqiu online, for insulting the fallen soldiers on Saturday. As reported by state media, Qiu was arrested for the offense of stirring up trouble that brought about a severe negative social impact according to a statement issued by the Nanjing Public Security Bureau on Saturday. Qiu’s Weibo account with more than 2.5 million followers was also suspended. His arrest was among the most discussed topics online.
-Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that NITI Aayog’s six-point agenda will be implemented in the state within the time-limit. He made the statement at the sixth virtual meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. Chauhan has said that Madhya Pradesh is committed to achieving the target of Rs 10 lakh crore GDP this year to make India a five-trillion-dollar economy by 2024. He suggested that in the private sector, the initiative can be taken to generate solar energy and develop forests in the degraded forest area spread over 30 lakh hectares in the state.Chief Minister also informed about the roadmap for Atmanirbhar MadhyaPradesh and initiatives being undertaken to encourage vocal for local in the state.
-Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday inaugurated the 26th edition of ‘Hunar Haat’ in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said Hunar Haat brings together indigenous artisans and craftsmen from across the country. He said this Haat is a beautiful exhibition of India's traditional art and craft and more importantly country's "cultural mosaic".The Minister stated that Hunar Haat gives emphasis on Vocal for Local which is the basis of self-reliant India. He said Hunar Haat not only gives a common platform to the traditional artisans and craftsmen but is also an expression of country's rich culture and tradition. He added that the Haat plays an important role in the national and international branding of arts and crafts of artisans so that they get a fair price for their products. Ministry of Minority Affairs is organising the Hunar Haat on the theme of Vocal for Local. The Hunar Haat will be underway till 1st March. More than 600 artisans and craftsmen from more than 31 states and UTs are participating.Artisans and craftsmen from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal among others are participating for the display and sale of their exquisite indigenous handmade products. The indigenous handmade products from every corner of the country are available under one roof at Hunar Haat.
-Political crisis has further deepened in Puducherry after two ruling alliance MLAs resigned from Assembly yesterday, a day before a floor test. Congress MLA K Lakshminarayanan and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) legislator Venkatesan announced their resignations. Four Congress MLAs had quit earlier, while another party legislator was disqualified for anti-party activities last year.Following the resignations of six MLAs and one disqualification, the effective strength of the Puducherry Assembly is 26. The government has 12 MLAs — one short of the halfway mark. This includes the Speaker, a Congress MLA — but he cannot vote unless there is a tie.The opposition has 14 MLAs — 7 from NR Congress, 4 from the AIADMK, and three MLAs nominated by the central government.
