Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called on PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday, bringing an end to speculation about strained bilateral ties between the two countries over the last few weeks.According to a press release by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Prime Minister Trudeau informed PM Modi about Canada's requirements of Covid-19 vaccines from India."Prime Minister assured the Canadian PM that India would do its best to support Canada's vaccination efforts, just as it had done for many other countries already," the release went on to add.While thanking his Canadian counterpart, PM Modi said in a tweet, "Was happy to receive a call from my friend @JustinTrudeau. Assured him that India would do its best to facilitate supplies of COVID vaccines sought by Canada."

According to the PMO, PM Modi and Trudeau also discussed several geo-political issues. They also agreed to continue the close collaboration between India and Canada in fighting global challenges like Climate Change and the economic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
