In a ceremony held in Nashik , Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, along with Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, unveiled the logo and mascot of the National Youth Festival through virtual presence. Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar also participated virtually in this unveiling ceremony on Friday
Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Smt. Bharti Pawar, Maharashtra Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Sanjay Bansode, Parent Minister Dada Bhuse, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Rural Development, Panchayat Raj and Tourism Minister Girish Mahajan,Deputy Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Narhari Zirwal, and all the public representatives of Nashik district were present. All the dignitaries appealed to the youth of the city to participate in the National Youth Festival, emphasizing that having such a national event in Nashik is a matter of pride. Importantly, this event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister of our country Narendra Modi, on 12th January 2024.The festival, themed "Viksit Bharat 2047" signifies a developed nation by 2047. The birth anniversary of the country's great philosopher and scholar, Swami Vivekananda, is celebrated on 12 January 2024.
During the unveiling ceremony, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, “Swami Vivekananda Ji's ideals are the heritage of the country, and we are very happy and proud that the National Youth Festival is going to be organized in Maharashtra this time. I appeal to all the youth of the state to gather on this great occasion and celebrate it with pride. Such events provide a new direction to the youth, enabling them to contribute to their future as well as the development of the country.”
Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur, expressed, “We are very happy that the 27th National Youth Festival, organized to commemorate Swami Vivekananda Jayanti will be held in city of Nashik, the cultural district of Maharashtra. Swami Vivekanand Ji’s ideals and teachings have been inspiring people from every section of the country for a long time. This is the era of progress for the youth, who have made strides in every field. Such events provide the youth with a platform through which they make their mark in the country.”
On January 12, 2024, the National Youth Festival will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Tapovan Ground in the city. Artists from every state and union territory of the country will participate in this five-day festival, which includes dance, singing, speech, photography, poster making, story writing, good thoughts, youth work, and adventure activities. Alongside these programs, an exclusive platform for emerging artists, entrepreneurs, and researchers from the state of Maharashtra will be provided through the Maharashtra Youth Expo.
