The 355th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th and last Sikh guru,is being celebrated today(Sunday).The auspicious occasion is also known as Prakash Parv. The birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh,at Takhat Sri Harmandir Sahab in Patna Sahib in Bihar is being celebrated in low key this time due to Covid. Patna Sahib is the birth place of Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj .Prakash Utsava will be celebrated on Sunday night after culmination of 48 hour long Akhand path amid covid protocol.Takhat Sri Harmandir Ji Prabhandhak Committee general secretary Indrajeet Singh said the entry of devotees has been restricted and no langar will be organised. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have greeted the people on the occasion.In a tweet, Naidu said, Guru Gobind Singh Ji is an epitome of selfless service and righteousness. He said, Guru Gobind Singh will continue to inspire the people to lead a life of service for the greater good. In a tweet, Modi said the life and message of Guru Gobind Singh give strength to millions of people. He said he will always cherish the fact that his Government got the opportunity to mark the Parkash Utsav.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday extended his greetings on the occasion of Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh, and called him an epitome of courage and compassion. Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar greeted people on the occassion of Prakas Parv. n view of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has given relaxation to the devotees during the weekend curfew in Delhi, allowing them to offer prayers at Gurudwaras on Sunday.
