Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday released a commemorative volume on Operation Sindoor, documenting the personal experiences and testimonies of 100 officers, sailors, airmen and soldiers who participated in the operation. The publication aims to capture the human dimension of modern warfare by highlighting the courage, leadership and resilience displayed by personnel across the armed forces during the operation. Singh termed the book as “a tribute to those who executed this operation.”
Unlike conventional military records that primarily focus on decisions taken at command headquarters, the volume presents firsthand accounts from personnel directly involved in the operation. These include soldiers positioned along the Line of Control (LoC), air defence operators intercepting hostile drones, fighter pilots during combat missions, naval personnel at operational stations, special forces operators, logisticians, signallers and medical officers.
The accounts span across all three armed services as well as integrated defence establishments, offering a comprehensive perspective on the operation. The event was attended by Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Army Staff Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Naval Staff Dinesh K Tripathi and Chief of the Air Staff A. P. Singh.
