Assam on Wednesday recorded an earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck parts of the state.According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake struck the state at 5.54 PM.The epicentre of the quake was 17 kilometres West-Northwest of Tezpur. The depth of the earthquake was 10 kiometres.The tremors created panic among people who rushed out of their homes. However, there were no immediate reports of any loss of life or damage to property.
