In Assam, an AN-32 transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashes at Rowriah Air Force station, Jorhat on Saturday morning. The accident reportedly took place when the aircraft was attempting to land at the Jorhat airfield. Emergency response teams have been deployed at the site, and rescue operations are currently underway.According to initial reports, the aircraft caught fire after landing within the airbase premises.

Indian Air Force confirmed the incident and said that further updates will be provided after the assessment of the situation. The AN-32 is designed to excel in extreme environments, functioning perfectly in high-altitude airfields and hot tropical climates. It can transport up to 7.5 tons of cargo, 50 passengers, or 42 paratroopers, and it is extensively used for supply drops in remote regions.
