PM Modi inaugurates Rs11,000 crore Highway projects in Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated two major National Highway projects worth around Rs 11,000 crore in New Delhi. These projects include the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). These projects have been developed as part of the government’s comprehensive plan to decongest the national capital.

In his address, Modi said connectivity across NCR will take a big leap forward with the inauguration of the Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway and UER-II. He said people in Delhi NCR will hugely benefit from this and also save time during their commute. Slaming opposition Modi said "Those who dance with the Constitution on their heads, how they trampled on the Constitution, how they betrayed the sentiments of Baba Saheb and those who talk big about social justice today have created many damaging rules and laws in the country."

Union minister for road transport Nitin Gadkari was present too, along with the chief ministers of Delhi and Haryana, Rekha Gupta and Nayab Singh Saini, respectively.The 10.1-km Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway, developed at a cost of about Rs 5,360 crore, will provide multi-modal connectivity to Yashobhoomi, the Delhi Metro's Blue and Orange lines, the upcoming Bijwasan railway station, and the Dwarka cluster bus depot. The project is split into two stretches -- Shiv Murti intersection to Dwarka Sector-21, and from there up to the Delhi-Haryana border -- linking directly to UER-II.
