CBI apprehends DUSIB Executive Engineer in bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended Vedpal Meena, Executive Engineer of Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), Seemapuri, New Delhi, in a bribery case. The CBI registered the instant case on September 19,2026 against the said accused based on a complaint. It was alleged that the Executive Engineer, DUSIB demanded a bribe of Rs. 2,50,000 from the complainant for allotment of ground for Ramleela at Nand Nagri, Wazirabad, Delhi and agreed to accept the same in two installments. The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused Executive Engineer, DUSIB, red-handed while demanding and accepting the first instalment of Rs. 1 Lakh from the complainant for allotting Ground for Ramleela, to the Complainant same day. During the house search of the accused Executive Engineer, cash amount of Rs. 41Lakh was seized. Further investigation is under way.

CBI Court awards 3 bank officials to 7-years RI in a fraud case

The CBI Jaipur Court has convicted and sentenced 03 Public Servants namely, Ramji Lal Meena, then Branch Manager, Murari Lal Meena, then Special Assistant and Than Singh Lashkar, Peon cum Housekeeper of Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC), Sheosinghpura, Lalsot, Dausa, to Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for Seven Years with a fine of Rs. 85,000 each, in a bank fraud case.
The case was registered on February 1, 2019 on the complaint lodged by the then DGM,Oriental Bank of Commerce, alleging that Murari Lal Meena abused his official position by dishonestly issuing unauthorized ‘No Dues Certificates’ thereby facilitating the release of mortgaged securities despite outstanding loan liabilities and causing a wrongful loss of Rs. 12,14,660.71 to the bank, across three loan accounts. After investigation, the CBI filed chargesheet on May 05,2022 against the three accused. After the trial, the Court convicted and sentenced the accused.
