NSA lauds NPA for imparting modern technology to IPS trainee

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval has said that the role of the Civil and Armed Police Forces in safeguarding India's sovereignty and internal security was significant. He was speaking at the Passing Out Parade of Indian Police Service Probationers at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad on Friday. Doval lauded that the National Police Academy has been imparting training based on modern and advanced methods and technology to the IPS probationers. Explaining the importance of law and the safety and security of people, Doval said no nation could debate when rule of law had failed. People would not feel safe and secure when law enforcers were weak, corrupt and partisan. “Safety and security is your responsibility,” he said. “If internal security fails, no country can be great. If the people are not secure and safe, they cannot rise to their potential; probably, the country will never grow,” he noted.

Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia, a Punjab-Cadre IPS Probationer led the Passing Out Parade. A total of 149 officers, including 132 IPS trainees of the 73rd Batch and 17 Foreign Officer Trainees, took part in the Dikshant Parade. Academy Director Atul Karwal said that the participation of women has increased in this batch with 20 percent of the trainees being women. He further said, greater emphasis is laid on attitude, behavior, humility during 60- week-long training, as they make a person a better human being, and thereby a good officer
