After meeting Rahul Gandhi on Friday, Navjot Singh Sidhu has withdrawn his resignation from the post of Punjab Congress chief and will resume his duties in the same capacity. Sidhu said, "I shared all my concerns with Rahul Gandhi. Everything has been sorted out."Harish Rawat, All India Congress Committee's in-charge for Punjab, said, "He [Sidhu] shared his concerns with Rahul Gandhi. We have told him that his concerns will be taken care of here. He assured Rahul Gandhi that he has withdrawn his resignation and he will resume his duties as the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president."
The meeting came following an uncomfortable truce between Sidhu and new Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi who was appointed to the job only after his predecessor Amarinder Singh quit over a mutiny fronted by Sidhu. Navjot Sidhu had last month posted his resignation on Twitter, making his displeasure apparent at the appointments and cabinet reshuffle under the new Chief Minister. The very next day he was back on board after an agreement was reached with the Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Channi.
