Delhi:Schools, colleges to re-open from Monday

Delhi government has decided to re-open Schools, colleges, educational institutes from Monday in the national capital in view of the improved air quality situation. Briefing reporters, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai  on Wednesday said that government offices will also reopen from  November 29 and officials and staff have been advised to use public transport as much as possible to reach their workplaces. Rai said that the ban on trucks from entering Delhi from other states, barring essential services, has also been extended till December 3. However, the CNG and electric vehicles will be allowed to enter in the national capital from Saturday.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has said the state is considering to resume schools for classes from 1- 7, though a possibility of third wave cannot be ruled out. Speaking to media in Mumbai on Wednesday, Tope said the state is also going ahead with preparations for starting vaccination of children aged 12-18 years. Tope said child task force has given its nod for opening of schools from class 1-7 and a final decision would be taken after the approval from the Chief Minister.
