Jammu&Kashmir: 2 soldiers killed after terrorists trigger IED blast

In Jammu and Kashmir, Two soldiers were killed in action in a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) attack by terrorists in Akhnoor sector on Tuesday, the Indian Army said. In a post on X, the army's White Knight Corps confirmed the casualties. "White Knight Corps salutes and pays tribute to the supreme sacrifice of two gallant soldiers," the army said. The IED attack came while the soldiers were on a "fence patrol" along the Line of Control (LoC). The blast took place at 3:30 pm near the LOC where the army personnel were conducting a patrolling operation. All three soldiers were rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical state where two of them, including a captain, lost their lives.

Following the blast, more troops have been mobilised to launch a massive search operation along the Line of Control. One injured soldier has been airlifted to a nearby Army Hospital for treatment and is currently out of danger, said an army official.
