US president Donal Trumo has that he and his support base would not be silenced. Banned from Twitter, Donald Trump tweeted from the account of 'Team Trump' which was also suspended following his statement. "I predicted this would happen. We have been negotiating with various other sites, and will have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future," the statement said.
Trump fired off tweets from the official presidential account @POTUS, accusing the company of conspiring with the "Radical Left." The social network quickly deleted the tweets. "We will not be SILENCED!" Trump said. The US President also went on to accuse Twitter of silencing him. Indicating some announcement in this regard is forthcoming, Donald Trump said, "Twitter is not about FREE SPEECH. They are all about promoting a Radical Left platform where some of the most vicious people in the world are allowed to speak freely. STAY TUNED!" Twitter has also suspended 'Team Trump" account. "Using another account to try to evade a suspension is against our rules," Twitter was quoted as saying by AFP. It added: "We have taken steps to enforce this with regard to recent Tweets from the @POTUS account."
BJP MP Tejasvi Surya cited Twitter's permanent suspension of outgoing US President Donald Trump's account as a "wake-up call for democracies" on the threat posed by "unregulated" big-tech companies. He took the opportunity to call for a review of the laws governing these firms apparently so that such action is not taken in India. The Bengaluru South MP's comments came hours after Twitter permanently shut down President Trump's account citing the risk of further incitement to violence.
