In Bihar, Political activities have already started but increasing cases of Coronavirus pandemic, uncertainty clouds are prevailing, whether assembly election be held as per schedule or it will be postponed for next year. Opposition RJD and BJP ally LJP, are also In favour to postpone the assembly elections. Leaders of these parties have already sent their demand to the Election Commission.
Meanwhile,NDA alliance parties are reportedly sorted out their differences. BJP leaders including Party President J P Nadda asserted that the ruling NDA alliance in Bihar intact and will fight the coming assembly elections together. Nadda's recent remarks on NDA's unity assume significance. NDA includes BJP, CM Nitish Kumar led JD(U) and young Chirag Paswan's LJP.According to agency reports he interacted with Bihar leaders through video conference on this issue. He also asked them to continue with welfare programmes in Corona hit state. Another senior BJP leaders, including party general secretary Bhupendra Yadav, have rejected the reports about any serious differences in the alliance and maintained that its constituents will fight the assembly polls together.
On the other hand, opposition reported alliance is on sticky wicket. Though RJD led Mahagathbandhan yet to decide seats and a leader, who will lead the alliance. Some old leaders have already left the RJD and Jitan Ram Majhi led HUMS is yet to decide its alliance.
The state elections are due in October-November.Amid speculation over the assembly poll schedule the Election Commission is yet to decide the dates.
