Re-polls at seven Polling Stations of five Assembly Constituencies were conducted in Manipur on Tuesday with tight security arrangements. Among these five ACs, four are Schedule Tribe ACs. The five Assembly Constituencies are- Wangjing Tentha, Ukhrul (ST), Chingai (ST), Karong (ST) and Tadubi (ST). These Assembly Constituencies witnessed polling on last Saturday at final phase elections of the State. However, there were incidents of damaging EVMs by miscreants on the polling day at these polling stations. Therefore, the elections authority decided to conduct re-polls in these seven polling stations . In Wangjing Tentha Assembly Constituency, re-polling was conducted at one polling station and registered voter turnout percentage at 65 percent. In Ukhrul district, three polling stations of two Assembly Constituencies registered 80 percent voter turnout. Three polling stations of two Assembly Constituencies under Senapati district also witnessed re-polling today. Two polling stations registered voter turnout over 83 percent while one polling station- Yangkhulen (A) registered only 0.76 voter turnout. Only six voter turnout for casting the votes in this polling station.

Further, he also launched Meghalaya’s 1st Early Childhood Development and Maternal Health Helpline which aims to connect mothers with the nearest Govt healthcare facilities for timely support in areas that concern child nurturing and wellbeing of both mother and child.
-Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has urged the States to adopt New Education Policy for a bright future of the students in the Country. In his inaugural speech at the National Edu Conclave in Chennai on Tuesday, the Vice President wanted primary education to be taught in mother language. He pointed out that India's age-old education system had inspired people around the world to visit India and have education here. He called for educationalists all over the Country to introduce digital facilities to bridge the digital divide. Elucidating on the challenges during Pandemic, he said that the pandemic had created new opportunities for students to learn through online. He thanked the teachers who adapted themselves towards digital technology. He said that women should be empowered and should be given equal opportunities and skills. Referring to the Indians who have become global CEOs, he said that the Indian system of education in mother language is unique and incomparable. Mr. Naidu told that learning a new language is always an advantage which would be beneficial for students. He called for educational institutions to have interaction with Industries and make use of the opportunity.
-The Kerala High Court on Tuesday dismissed a plea filed by actor Dileep opposing further investigation in the actress' sexual assault case of 2017. Justice Kauser Edappagath directed the investigating agency to complete further probe by the 15th of next month. Dileep opposed the move to hold further investigation stating that it will only help to delay the trial in the sexual assault case, which had reached its final stage. The State Crime Branch probing the case sought more time to complete the investigation following new revelations by film Director Balachandra Kumar, who was once close to the actor.
-Karnataka Chief Minister Basaraj Bommai has assured that the mortal remains of Indian student Naveen Gyanagoudar who was killed in shelling in Ukraine will be brought back to India at the earliest. Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that the mortal remains of Naveen are embalmed and kept in a mortuary in Ukraine. Quoting the External Affairs minister S Jaishankar, the Chief Minister informed that all efforts are being made to bring back the mortal remains to India at an earliest. He further said that the Indian embassy is in constant contact with the concerned authorities in Ukraine to arrange the shifting of mortal remains. He further said that Ukraine is still under attack from Russia and heavy shelling continues. The body can be brought back when the shelling subsides and flights resume operation. The fourth year medical student Naveen hailing from Haveri in Karnataka was killed in shelling in Kharkiv in Ukraine on March 1.
