Telangana to fill up 50,000 vacancies

The Delimitation Commission has said that the delimitation exercise to redraw boundaries of Assembly constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir will be completed in a very transparent manner. Addressing media in Jammu on Friday,, Sushil Chande, Ex-officio member of J&K Delimitation Commission said that Population will be the main criteria for delimitation but priority will be also the area, geography, topography and also the communication facilities of the areas.He said that  the commission met around 300 groups in Srinagar, Pahalgam, Kishtwar and Jammu to know their viewpoints and suggestions. He said that all demands and recommendations will be taken into account and a draft prepared by it will be put in the public domain for objections and queries before preparing the final draft.

-Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday participated virtually in the G20 High-Level Tax Symposium on tax policy and Climate Change. The Symposium was organised by G20 Italy, ahead of the 3rd G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Ms Sitharaman highlighted that in India, fiscal policy options are used for better environmental outcomes and concessional tax rates are in place to promote use of renewables. She shared India’s innovative policy mix for better environmental outcomes such as new energy map of India, digital innovation and emerging fuels, solar alliance for enabling clean energy, promotion of energy efficiency and afforestation. The Minister emphasised on the role of technology in fighting Climate Change and called for international cooperation to increase supply of alternative sources of energy and technologies for adaptation.

-Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao has instructed officials to fill up 50,000 vacancies in all the departments and start the recruitment process immediately in the first phase. Since the obstacles for the new Zonal System are cleared, the Chief Minister directed officials to fill up vacancies in the second phase created after giving the promotions. The President gave assent to the new Zonal System of the State government recently. A high level review meeting was held by the Chief Minister on the filling up of the vacancy posts in the State.

-In Kerala, State Health Minister Veena George has informed that the State has constituted a new action plan to combat Zika virus as 13 new cases were reported in the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram today. All districts have been cautioned. All necessary preventive measures will be adopted in those areas where the virus infection is suspected. Mosquito control is the most effective preventive mechanism. Pregnant women upto 4 months are under the high risk category. Hence all pregnant women upto 5 months of pregnancy and with fever should be tested that they are not affected by the virus. The primary symptoms include fever, headache, body pain and red rashes. The Minister also communicated that there is no need for excessive fear, but just that the public need to be cautious.

-In Meghalaya, the construction works to install two cryogenic oxygen plants in two different locations are in its final stage and will be functional in the next few weeks, According to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma the Meghalaya Government initiated the process to install the oxygen plants, one at Jengjal in West Garo Hills and the other at Shillong in East Khasi Hills district after the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic hit the State hard. The Chief Minister further stated that Meghalaya will be well prepared with oxygen supplies if the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic hits the State.

-The Centre has denied issuing any public notice regarding conduct of National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) on  September 5. The National Testing Agency said that it is still in consultation with the concerned Stakeholders for finalizing a suitable date for the  conduct of NEET (UG) - 2021. It has asked all stakeholders to rely only on Public Notices, information and dates announced by National Testing Agency through its official websites, i.e. www.nta.ac.in and https://ntaneet.nic.in.The Chief Minister further stated that Meghalaya will be well prepared with oxygen supplies if the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic hits the State
