Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday launched a special campaign for women security on the occasion of the Navratri. Addressing senior officials today in a meeting Chief minister Yogi Adityanath had said that along with deployment of anti-Romeo squads, foot patrolling should also be increased in marketplaces and crowded areas. The fourth phase of Mission Shakti will be being launched in the state from April 10 and the chief minister directed that women constables should be deployed on their beats and proper coordination should be ensured. He said that the women constables should establish a contact with women in rural areas and keep them informed about various welfare schemes being run by the government for them.
-Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurates and lays foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs. 200 crore in Chintpurni Vidhan Sabha area of Una district on Saturday. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur was also present on this occasion. Union Minister while addressing a public meeting at Amb said people to effectively use social media to disseminate the details regarding projects inaugurated and dedicated by the Chief Minister. Anurag Singh Thakur said that the BJP has won in all the four states in the recently held elections and now the BJP would surely again to win Himachal Pradesh. He further added that with the collective efforts of the double engine Government at the Centre and the State would surely ensure formation of BJP Government in the State again in December this year. He said that Swan Channelization Project was possible due to the efforts of the former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, which has proved a boon to the people of the district. He said that over 22,000 students of the country were brought home safely from war affected Ukraine. He said this become possible due to a strong leadership provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister JaiRam Thakur while congratulating and facilitating the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Hindu New Year and Navratras, said people of Chintpurni have got a gift of developmental projects worth Rs. 200 crore on this auspicious day. He said the State Government has always ensured that the pace of development goes uninterrupted in the area, for which active cooperation of the Centre government was also being sought.

The heavy tourist traffic to the Union Territory was reduced following COVID lockdown. The collapse of the iconic port bridge has also added pain to the tourist inflow. Lieutenant Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan assured that the bridge will be restored under the Sagar Mala Scheme. The Chief Minister has also been firm in bringing Puducherry in the tourist map of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the people of Puducherry that he will make Puducherry Best. -Communal clashes broke out in Rajasthan's Karauli on Saturday evening after stones were pelted at a motorcycle rally taken out to celebrate the Hindu new year, prompting authorities to clamp curfew, suspend the internet and deploy 600 police personnel. Around two dozen people were injured in the violence while 30 people were detained, Additional Director General of Police ( Law and Order) Hawa Singh Ghumariya said, adding the situation is under control. The rally to mark Nav Samvatsar was passing through a Muslim-dominated area when some people pelted stones. The violence escalated and a few shops and a bike were burnt. Several others were damaged, the police said. The police control room of Karauli initially said that over 35 persons were injured. The ADG said many of the injured were discharged after primary treatment while around 10 were admitted to a local hospital and one was referred to SMS hospital in Jaipur in critical condition. Karauli collector Rajendra Singh Shekhawat said that curfew has been imposed in the entire city. Governor Kalraj Mishra and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot spoke to Director General of Police (DGP) M L Lather and appealed to the public to maintain peace.
-Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju on Saturday assured the CBI that the department will be provided with services of best lawyers to meet its manpower requirement, officials said. Speaking at the valedictory session of maiden Investigating Officers Conference organised by CBI, the minister attributed high conviction rate of the CBI to the professional working of its officers."The Minister also assured all help in meeting challenges of manpower including need of lawyers adding that, he would endeavour providing services of best lawyers to the organisation, CBI said in a statement.The minister also said that the ultimate goal of state institutions, including CBI, is to ensure justice to the people .Rijiju presented the Home Minister Medal for Excellence in Investigation' to 52 CBI officers for 2018, 2019, and 2020.
