NITI Aayog Monday launched the Geospatial Energy Map of India. The map attempts to identify and locate all primary and secondary sources of energy and their transportation networks to provide a comprehensive view of energy production and distribution in a country. NITI Aayog in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation has developed the comprehensive Geographic Information System Energy Map with the support of Energy Ministries of India. The GIS map provides a holistic picture of all energy resources of the country which enables visualisation of energy installations such as conventional power plants, oil and gas wells, petroleum refineries, coal fields and coal blocks, district-wise data on renewable energy power plants and renewable energy resource potential. During the launch, Dr Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, stated GIS mapping of energy assets will be useful for ensuring real-time and integrated planning of energy sector of India. He said, energy markets have immense potential to bring in efficiency gains.
-CBSE has clarified that it has not released any official notification regarding term exams. CBSE said in a tweet that a fake date sheet is being circulated on social media for the forthcoming term 1 exams in November to confuse students of classes X and XII.
-Over 56.62 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured in Kharif Marketing Season 2021-22 up to 17th of this month. The procurement took place in states and Union Territories of Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.The Kharif Marketing Season 2021-22 at MSP commenced recently and has benefited 3 lakh 71 thousand 919 farmers with MSP value of over Rs 11,0000 crore
-India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 98 crore 60 lakh landmark milestone on Monday. Out of the total vaccination, more than 69 crore 87 lakh vaccine doses have been given as first dose, while over 28 crore 72 lakh doses have been administered as the second dose.Union Health Ministry said, more than 79 lakh 74 thousand vaccine doses were administered today. The vaccination exercise as a tool to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from COVID-19 continues to be regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level. The Ministry said, 19 thousand 582 COVID patients recovered during the last 24 hours and the national recovery rate has reached 98.12 per cent. Till now, more than three crore 34 lakh people have recovered from COVID-19.
-Uttarakhand has administered the first dose of Covid vaccine to its entire eligible population three months ahead of target. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, a total of 74 lakh people in the state have been administered the first dose of the vaccine. He said, 34.68 lakh people have been given second dose. Dhami has thanked all government, private and voluntary organisations involved in the exercise. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for raising the supply of vaccine doses for the state from August onwards.
