R-Day: Nearly 950 police officers awarded president and police medals

The government on Monday announced police medals on the eve of 72nd Republic Day. As many as 650 officers and personnel have been chosen for police medal for meritorious service, while 205 will be given police medal for gallantry. Eighty nine IPS officers have been awarded President's police medal.

The highest number of awardees - 72 - are from UP Police.
