Union Minister Giriraj Singh released Rural Connectivity Geographic Information System Data in the public domain on Tuesday, February, 22, 2022 in New Delhi. He said, GIS technology will be utilized for improvement in the planning and implementation of projects in rural areas. Singh said, data will contribute immensely to the making of New India. He said, data has been collected and digitized using GIS platform developed for Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. He added that GIS data for eight lakh rural facilities, 10 lakh habitations, and 25 lakh kilometers of rural roads have been collected and digitized using GIS platform developed for the scheme. He further said, Gati Shakti is a national master plan and digital platform to plan and execute infrastructure projects in the country to reduce logistics costs and enhance infrastructure.
