Actor Puneeth Rajkumar was buried in Bengaluru on Sunday morning in the presence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and several top actors from the Kannada film industry. Bommai gave a "final salute" ahead of the funeral at Sree Kanteerava Studios. Former Chief Ministers BS Yediyurappa and Siddaramaiah, state Congress chief DK Shivakumar were among those who paid their last respects to the late actor. According to an official government release, due to security reasons, with the consent of the family members, Puneeth's last rites were performed much before the scheduled time.
Puneeth was laid to rest near his father and legendary actor Dr Rajkumar's burial place at Sree Kanteerava Studios. The last rites of Puneeth were performed by his family members. Puneeth Rajkumar was a youth icon in the Kannada film industry. He was the fifth and the youngest son of Dr Rajkumar and his wife Parvathamma. The actor was last seen in the Kannada film, Yuvarathnaa.
