Senior IAS officer Durga Shankar Mishra will be new chief secretary Uttar Pradesh. He was the secretary, Housing and Urban Development. According to the DoPT order The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved repatriation of Durga Shankar Mishra eo his cadre for his proposed appointment as Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh by the UP Government. He is a 1984 batch UP cadre lAS officer and was schedule to retire on December 31 this year. Mishra is also the Chairman of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and the President of the IAS Association. Mishra would be replacing IAS officer Rajendra Kumar Tiwari. The latter, also a UP cadre officer of 1985-batch, was serving as the state's chief secretary since August 2019. Tiwari is due to retire in February 2023.
