Delhi:construction ban to continue,no entry on trucks till Dece 7

Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said that the government is implementing various schemes for the welfare and upliftment of every section of the society including minorities. He said the government is implementing various scholarship schemes for educational empowerment of six notified minority communities - Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Muslims, Buddhists, and Parsis under which around four crore 52 lakh minority students belong to economically weaker sections have been benefitted. Mr. Naqvi said this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha .

-Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai thas said the ban on construction and demolition activities in Delhi will continue till further orders in view of the high air pollution levels. The ban on the entry of trucks, barring those engaged in essential services, will continue till December 7. He said, CNG and electric trucks will be allowed to enter Delhi. Speaking to reporters Mr Rai said, exerts have said low temperature and low wind speed have led to stagnant conditions and that Delhi's air quality is likely to remain very poor in coming days. He said, the situation can improve if it rains, as predicted by the India Meteorological Department.The minister informed the government's Red Light On, Gaadi Off campaign to curb vehicular pollution is being extended till 18th of next month.Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said the workers affected by the ban on construction activities in the national capital will be provided financial assistance of 5,000 rupees each and his government will also compensate them for the loss of minimum wages.

-In Bihar,  Ninth Phase of Panchayat Elections passed peacefully amidst tight security arrangements. An estimated over 60 percent electorates their right of franchise. No untoward incident has so far been reported from any part of the state. Polling held in 53 blocks spread over 35 districts including Patna, Saran, Munger and Darbhanga on Monday. Electorates fortune of 97 thousand 878 candidates have been sealed in EVMs. Polling was held for 26 thousand eight hundred 31 posts including mukhia, sarpanch, and panchayat members. For the first time, EVMs are being used in Panchayat polls in the state which is being held in eleven phases. Counting of votes will take place on 1st and 2nd of December .The tenth phase of polling will be held on December 8.
-Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai has clarified that orders are issued to keep a close watch on schools and colleges and that this should not be understood as a step towards lockdown. Speaking to media persons in Davangere, the Chief Minister said that there is no proposal before him to impose the lockdown. Saying that there is no need to panic over Omicron virus variant-related news, the Chief Minister said that Covid protocol must be followed by everyone. Vigilance is increased in the airport with screening of passengers arriving from Omicron virus-affected countries. They are undergoing RT PCR tests on arrival to the state. He said that a person who arrived from South Africa to Bengaluru earlier has undergone Covid test and his sample is sent to ICMR for Genome Sequencing. Once the report comes, the variant will be confirmed.

-In Manipur, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Moday presented progress report card of his government’s achievements during the last four years and eight months in Imphal.. The report card titled ‘Transforming Manipur', Inclusive Development under BJP led Government contains a brief account of the various works and initiatives taken up by the Government from 15 March 2017 to  November 15, 2021.Addressing media persons Biren said that his government has made all-round development of the State during the period. He said the State has been able to progress in many sectors with the support of Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The law and order situation had witnessed huge improvement in the past four years and eight months making progress on development works in the State, he said.The CM said that his government introduced School Fagathansi Mission and covered 60 schools under the mission which increased 25 percent students’ enrollment in Government schools. Two hundred and thirty-seven schools spread across the State had been amalgamated to nearby schools having better infrastructure, better connectivity under the mission for overall improvement.
