Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day amid opposition uproar against three farm laws. When the House met after adjournment at 9 PM, the scene was no different as members from Congress, DMK, TMC, Left, SP, Shiv Sena and others raised slogans against the government. Lok Sabha faced repeated adjournments over the matter on Wednesday. The House to be adjourned till 4:30 PM, 5 PM, 7 PM and 9 PM.
-The Government has warned that Twitter may face action if it does not comply with it's orders, stressing that the social media house unilaterally unblocked accounts and tweets - linked to an objectionable hashtag related to the farmers' protest - despite its order.The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had earlier issued a notice to Twitter to comply with its order to remove obnoxious and malicious contents and accounts related to farmer's issue. It said the contents were created with malafide intentions to inflame passions, hatred and are factually incorrect.Government on Wednesday, in a statement said, this is a motivated campaign to create tension among society on unsubstantiated grounds and incitement is not freedom of speech, it is a threat to law and order.
The statement said, Twitter is an intermediary and it is obliged to obey directions of government and it cannot assume the role of court and justify non-compliance.
-The BJP has accused the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of taking political mileage over farmers' protest. Addressing media in New Delhi, BJP Spokeserson Sambit Patra alleged that Gandhi has tried to incite the farmers. Patra questioned the Congress leader as this is an agitation of the farmers and they are saying they are not associated with any political party and this is not a political movement then why Gandhi is speaking on their behalf.Over the remarks of Gandhi , Patra said, the Narendra Modi government is working with the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas.
-The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai - MCGM on Wednesday unveiled 39038.83 crore rupee budget for 2021-22; exceeding the current financial year’s budget estimates by almost 17 percent. In his budget speech, Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal said the civic body has proposed to allot 4,278 crore rupees for the development of healthcare facilities.In an effort to push developmental works that have suffered delays due to lockdown, Chahal announced a provision of 2000 crore rupees for Coastal Road Project while 1300 crore rupees have been earmarked for Goregaon Mulund Link Road Project. The civic body has made a provision of 323 crores for building 108 community toilets, while 200 crores have been set aside for Beautification Of Footpath, Traffic Island, Spaces below Flyover and Wall Painting and Mumbai Street Food Hub.
-Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the covid situation in the state is totally under control. He said that despite the phenomenal decrease in covid cases in state people should not become complacent and need to remain vigilant and follow covid protocols strictly.After a gap of more than 6 months the number of active covid patients in the state has come down to below 5 thousand.State currently has 4765 total active covid patients out of which 1215 are in home isolation. Only 197 new covid cases have been found in last 24 hours. Despite the decreasing number of covid patients, the government is still conducting more than 1 lakh covid tests regularly. Yesterday also more than 1 lakh 19 thousand tests were conducted.
