Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, leading a high-level state delegation at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos, held a series of key meetings with global technology leaders to position Gujarat as a leading destination for high-tech transformation and next-generation industries.During the summit, Sanghavi engaged with senior executives from OpenAI and Cognizant, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence, expansion of digital infrastructure, and the role of emerging technologies in driving the next phase of industrial growth in the state.
In a significant interaction with Chris Lehane, Chief Global Affairs Officer at OpenAI, the Deputy Chief Minister discussed the future of AI enablement and its potential to reshape global industries. The discussions centred on responsible AI adoption, advanced capabilities, and building frameworks that allow innovation to scale sustainably.

Sharing his views on social media, Sanghavi underlined Gujarat’s readiness to embrace transformative technologies. “As AI reshapes the world, Gujarat steps forward with confidence,” he said, adding that the state is “building an ecosystem where responsible AI and world-class innovation can truly thrive.” He highlighted Gujarat’s robust digital infrastructure and rapidly growing talent base as the foundation of its high-tech evolution.Further strengthening Gujarat’s global engagement, Sanghavi also held a detailed meeting with Jatin Dalal, Global CFO of Cognizant. The discussions focused on the impact of Cognizant’s TechFin Centre at GIFT City, which the Deputy Chief Minister described as emerging into a strategic hub for delivering advanced technology solutions to global clients. The meeting also explored ways to strengthen workforce readiness by leveraging Gujarat’s expanding pool of highly skilled technology professionals to meet global innovation demands.
Addressing the forum, Sanghavi noted the scale of India’s presence at Davos. “Today, at the World Economic Forum, India has the largest and most formidable delegation,” he said, underscoring Gujarat’s strong investment legacy. He pointed out that during the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat 2024 cycle, the state has already garnered over Rs 45 lakh crore in memoranda of understanding (MoUs).Highlighting sustained investor confidence, the Deputy Chief Minister added that Gujarat has attracted more than Rs 11 lakh crore in MoUs in the past three months alone through regional investment events, reinforcing the state’s position as a major engine of economic growth and a preferred destination for global investors.
