13 new Secretaries appointed

After a long wait the Central government on Saturday appointed 13 Secretaries, Alok Tandon to be Mines Secretary while Khandekar to head DoPT. ACC has also approved their appointments. 

Accordingly. Deepak Khandekar, lAS (MP:85), will be new  Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; Upendra Prasad Singh, lAS (OR:85), joins  as Secretary, Ministry of Textiles;  Rajesh Kr. Chaturvedi, lAS (MP:87) has been transferred to the Department of Fertilizer as Secretary, Yogendra Tripathy, lAS (KN:85),will be new Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals,  Alok Tandon, lAS (UP:86), presently in the cadre, as Secretary, Ministry of Mines; G. V. Venugopala Sarma, lAS (OR:86), will take over as Chairman, National Authority, Chemical Weapons Convention, Pankaj Kumar, lAS (NL:87), has been appointed as  Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti , Otem Dai, lAS (TN:87), presently in the cadre, as Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission,  Alok Kumar- I, lAS (UP:88), presently in the cadre, as Secretary, Ministry of Power, Bidyut Bihari Swain, lAS (GJ:88), to be the  Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises;  Praveen Kr. Srivastava, lAS (AM:88), as Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat;  Arvind Singh, lAS (MH:88), will be   Secretary, Ministry of Tourism,Ms. Alka Tiwari, lAS (JH:88), has been posted as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes.

The ACC has also approved in-situ upgradation of five officers to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India, : (I)  Praveen Garg, lAS (MP:88),as Special Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, (ii) Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, lAS (UK:88), Chairman, National Highways Authority of India, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways by restoring the post to the Secretary level; (iii) Ms. Anjali Bhawara, lAS (PB:88),  as Special Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs (iv) Jatindra Nath Swain, lAS (TN:88), Managing Director, Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd.  in the rank and pay of Secretary by temporarily upgrading the post; (v)  Anil Kumar Jha, lAS (KN:88),  as Special Secretary, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.
