The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued fresh Covid-19 guidelines for surveillance, containment and caution, will be effective from February 1 till February 28. 2021. The updated standard operating procedures (SOPs) also allow the reopening of swimming pools for all and Cinema halls and theatres will be allowed to operate with higher occupancy. The government has asked civil aviation ministry to further open up international air travel in consultation with the home ministry.
As per the guidelines, the main focus is to consolidate the substantial gains that have been achieved against the spread of Covid-19 which is visible in the steady decline in number of active and new cases in the country over the last four months.There shall be no restriction on inter-state and intra-state movement of persons and goods including those for cross land-border trade under treaties with neighbouring countries. No separate permission/approval/e-permit will be required for such movements.All activities have been permitted outside Containment Zones. The home ministry had said that containment zones will have to be demarcated carefully and prescribed containment measures must be strictly followed within these areas.
