Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla paid floral tributes at the portrait of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan on the occasion of his Birth Anniversary on Tuesday, December 23,2025. Minister of State, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, MoS Edcucation, Jayant Chaudhary, Members of Parliament, former Members and other dignitaries also paid tributes to Chaudhary Charan Singh on the occasion. A booklet containing the profile of Chaudhary Charan Singh, brought out by the Lok Sabha Secretariat in Hindi and English, was presented to the dignitaries who attended the function. The portrait of Chaudhary Charan Singh was unveiled by the then President of India, Dr. Shanker Dayal Sharma, in the Central Hall of Parliament House on 23 December 1993. Earlier, in a message, Speaker Birla recalled that Chaudhary Charan Singh was the voice of villages, farmers and workers in Indian politics. He noted that Chaudhary Charan Singh, who regarded village self-rule, farmer empowerment and social justice as the guiding principles of his public life, would continue to remain an inspiration for generations.
