Maghi Purnima 'snan' begins amid elaborate arrangements

The Maghi Purnima sacred bath began early Wednesday as hundreds of thousands of devotees gathered in the Maha Kumbh Mela area in Prayagraj amid elaborate traffic, crowd control and safety measures.So far over 60 lakh devotees have already taken a dip on the occasion of Maghi Purnima, which marks the conclusion of the month-long Kalpvas. With the Maghi Purnima bath, the month-long Kalpavas will also end and the around 10 lakh kalpvasis will start leaving the Maha Kumbh. The  Mela administration has requested all Kalpvasis to follow traffic rules and use only authorised parking spaces.

At the bathing ghats with Artificial intelligence technology being used for crowd management. PAC, paramilitary forces, ATS, STF, and NSG commandos have been deployed as part of the comprehensive security measures to ensure smooth departure of the devotees. Water police, divers, flood company PAC, NDRF, and SDRF have also been stationed at the bathing ghats.  The ghats are under surveillance through CCTV cameras and drones.
