The Congress party has dismissed Sachin Pilot from Rajasthan State Cabinet and also from the post of party’s state president. Cabinet Minister Vishvendra Singh and Ramesh Meena were also dismissed from the Rajasthan cabinet. Vishvendra Singh was Minister of tourism, while Ramesh Meena was the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies.
Speaking after the Congress announced the sacking of Pilot and his two aides from the state cabinet, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday accused rebel leader Sachin Pilot of playing into the hands of the BJP
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot met Governor Kalraj Mishra immediately after the Congress Legislature Party meeting where the decision to remove the three ministers was taken. Sources said Gehlot briefed the Governor on recent developments in the state, caught in the grip of a power struggle between him and Pilot.
After the Congress Legislature Party meeting held today, senior Congress leader Randeep Surjewala told that Govind Singh Dotasara will be the new state president of Rajasthan Congress. He said that the Deputy Chief Minister and other MLAs are caught in the clutches of the BJP. "It cannot be acceptable to any political party. Therefore, the Congress took the decisions with a heavy heart, Surjewala said.
After being dismissed from every office he held in Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot tweeted, "The truth can be harassed but not defeated." It is said that Pilot made it clear that he would not yield on his demand of wanting to be promoted to Gehlot's job. The Congress conveyed to him that would not be possible, but that it would give him better and more posts for his team.
