Delhi govt to introduce e-Cabinet system for paperless proceedings

The Delhi government is set to introduce an e-Cabinet system to make Cabinet proceedings more paperless, secure and technology-driven, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta informed the Delhi Assembly on Tuesday.According to agency reports, the proposed system will shift Cabinet-related documents and information to a digital platform, reducing reliance on physical paperwork while ensuring safeguards for sensitive government material. It is also expected to facilitate virtual Cabinet meetings and integrate with the e-Office system already being used by the Delhi government.
The e-Cabinet portal is available in Hindi and English and has been designed for use on smart tablets, enabling authorised officials to access Cabinet documents digitally. It also features an institutional memory and knowledge repository that will allow users to search and retrieve relevant records and information quickly.Gupta said the government has prepared a proposal for implementing the system and indicated that it would be introduced soon as part of its broader administrative reform measures.
The portal has been developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for state governments. It uses a push-and-pull mechanism to enhance security while handling confidential Cabinet information.
