In a historic development for the Union Territory of Daman, the first commercial flight to New Delhi was flagged off on Thursday, July 16,2026 from the newly constructed Namo Airport. Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu and Union Territory Administrator Praful Patel jointly flagged off the maiden flight at a special ceremony held at the airport. This landmark launch follows the recent inauguration of the Namo Airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The direct air connectivity between Daman and the national capital is expected to give a major boost to tourism, trade, and investment in the region. Passengers will no longer have to rely on long road or rail journeys, significantly cutting down travel time. According to the local administration, plans are already underway to expand air services from Namo Airport to other major cities across the country in the near future.
