EverestBKCC (Everest Better Kitchen Culinary Challenge) season 3 for hospitality students in Ludhiana attracted budding chefs across Punjab. More than 30 teams participated in the EverestBKCC from Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and other cities of Punjab. Ludhiana was the sixth destination of EverestBKCC Season 3 which is planned in 10 cities namely Bhopal, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Nagpur, Bengaluru and Pune. Winners of all cities will be called for the grand finale in Pune on 26 April, 2022. Winner of the grand finale will get the placement in America, Australia or France.
Theme of the challenge was Flavours of India and the intent is to create awareness about the regional cuisines and make Indian food popular using Indian spices across the globe. The culinary challenge was organized at School of Hotel Management, CT University – Ludhiana. The event is supported by Incredible India, Worldchefs, Indian Culinary Forum, Western Chefs Association (WICA) and Hospitality Purchasing Managers’ Forum (HPMF).
Celebrity Chef Gautam Mehrishi was the Chief Guest. In his address, he advised participants to cook food with love and passion. He added, in any culinary competition, the marking is done on the basis of use of ingredients, taste, texture, colour and plating. Other presentation items can only be meant for visual presentation. The jury members of the EverestBKCC Season 3 at Ludhiana were Chef Vikas Chawla, Chef Vishwadeep Bali and Chef Sandeep.
Ekta Bhargava, Publisher of Better Kitchen shared the objective of this challenge is to prepare the students for their future and make Indian regional food using local ingredients as a global food. This challenge is the best way of providing them a platform to showcase their skill of creativity and use ingredients in the proper way.The winner of EverestBKCC Season 3 – Ludhiana’s best team was Everest Jiralu Powder, first runner-up and second runner-up were Everest Egg Curry Masala and Everest Rajma Masala respectively.
