CBSE Class 12 results declared, 85.2% students pass

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday declared the Class 12 board examination results for 2026, with the overall pass percentage recorded at 85.20%, a decline of 3.19 percentage points compared to last year. Students who appeared for the board examinations can access their scorecards through the official platforms, including results.cbse.nic.in, cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, digilocker.gov.in, and results.gov.in. Girls outshone boys. Over 88 pc girls, 82 pc boys pass board exams.
This year, 17,80,365 students registered for the CBSE Class 12 examinations, out of which 17,68,968 appeared and 15,07,109 students passed. The overall pass percentage stood at 85.20 per cent, down by 3.19 percentage points from last year’s 88.39 per cent. The  Class 12 board examinations were conducted in India and abroad from February 17 to April 10, 2026, in a single shift.
The CBSE has announced the schedule for supplementary examinations. The supplementary examinations are scheduled to take place on July 15, 2026, in a single day.  Also, students who have passed CBSE Class 12 exams but wish to improve the marks in one subject, can apply for the supplementary exams.

While Trivandrum emerged as the best-performing region with 95.62%, southern regions continued to dominate the top ranks. Chennai region stood at 93.84%. Delhi also maintained strong performance above 91%, while several northern and central regions lagged behind. At the lower end of the scale, Prayagraj recorded the lowest pass percentage at 72.43%, followed by Patna at 74.45%, Noida at 79.02%, and Bhopal at 79.43%.
