The first-ever all-women officers sailing expedition of the Indian Army was flagged off on Monday was fallges in by Major General S.S.Dahiya, Chief of Staff Dakshin Bharat Area at the Chennai Port Trust on Wednesday February, 23,2022.The entire team headed by Major Muktha Gautam sailed their way from Chennai to Nizampatnam- Vizag- Nizampatnam and back to Chennai.Speaking after the flagging ceremony, Major General S.S.Dahiya said that this was the first time ever that the adventure sport had women army officers. He said that this would inspire and motivate young girls to join the armed forces and serve the Nation. The officers were trained in blue water sailing and watermanship before embarking on the expedition. The adventure was flagged off last Monday by Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Sounderarajan.
