In Jammu and Kashmir, police has said that the preliminary investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the Hyderpora encounter has established that two among the four slain persons were terrorists. On November 15, four persons were killed including a foreign terrorist, Bilal Bhai, and locals Aamir Margay, Mudasir Gul, and Altaf Bhat in a brief encounter with security forces in Hyderpora area of Srinagar city. Addressing a press conference, Deputy Inspector of Central Kashmir, Sujit Kumar, who is also the SIT Incharge, said that it was established that the foreign terrorists Bilal was involved in attacks on police as the eyewitnesses have recognized his body after the encounter. The DIG said that another person, Aamir Margay, had shared his photo brandishing a pistol on phone with his friend, who later turned eyewitness for the police and shared the details. Aamir had also given shelter to the terrorist in his room inside the call centre where he was working as help. He further said that the prima facia it appears that the building owner, Altaf, was used by the foreign terrorist as a human shield and was killed in crossfire while Dr. Mudasir Gul was killed by the terrorist.He said that Dr. Gul was also seen by eyewitnesses carrying the foreign terrorist in his car.

-Uttarakhand Government has imposed night curfew in the state as Omicron cases rise. Night curfew will be in effect from 11 pm to 5 am. As per the order, essential services such as movement of ambulances, vehicles carrying health personnel and postal services have been exempted. Private vehicles will also be allowed to commute for emergencies during the night - as long as they strictly adhere to COVID-19 protocols. The production, transportation and distribution of petrol, diesel, kerosene and LPG have also been exempted. Following the announcement, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami urged everyone to be careful and continue to follow all COVID-19 guidelines to prevent the further spread of the virus.
-The full Election Commission led by Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra will review the preparedness and arrangements for the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. The team reached Lucknow this afternoon on a three-day visit to Uttar Pradesh. The Election Commission interacted with representatives of various political parties on Tuesday. A complete review meeting will be held with the DGPs, the state Home Ministry officials, and Expenditure officials. There are 403 seats in the UP Assembly on Wednesday. The term of the current Assembly will expire on the 14th of May 2022.
-Board of Control for Cricket in India president Sourav Ganguly has been tested Covid-19 positive and admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata on Monday night. The former India captain is with mild symptoms and is stable. He was feeling sick for a few days and his RT PCR report turned to be Covid positive. He is reportedly fully vaccinated. His sample will be sent for genome sequencing. Shri Ganguly has been under the supervision of a medical board comprising Dr. Saroj Mondal, Dr. Soutik Panda, Dr. Saptarshi Bose, Dr. Devi Shetty, and Dr. Aftab Khan. TMC MP Derek O’ Brien also have tested positive for Covid 19. In a tweet he said, he has ‘moderate symptoms. Isolating at home. Was always ultra-careful.
