Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday began a four-day official visit to France, with a focus on strengthening the India-France Strategic Partnership, expanding economic cooperation and encouraging greater collaboration in investment, technology and innovation.
According to agency reports,during the visit, Sitharaman will participate in a series of high-level bilateral engagements aimed at deepening economic relations between the two countries, the Ministry of Finance said.A key highlight of the visit will be her co-chairing of the India-France Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) with France’s Finance Minister Roland Lescure at Aix-en-Provence.The dialogue will focus on identifying new avenues for bilateral cooperation across sectors and strengthening the economic partnership between India and France. Discussions are expected to cover areas linked to investment flows, financial cooperation, technology partnerships and innovation-driven growth.
As part of her engagements, the Finance Minister will also hold one-on-one meetings with select global chief executive officers and participate in a roundtable discussion with leading business leaders.The interactions are aimed at presenting India’s strong macroeconomic fundamentals, policy reforms, expanding investment landscape and long-term growth opportunities to international investors and industry stakeholders.The visit comes as India continues to strengthen economic partnerships with key global economies, focusing on attracting investment, enhancing technology cooperation and building stronger links across strategic sectors.
