Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday accused the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal of not implementing several central agriculture schemes, alleging that farmers in the state were facing “injustice”. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Chouhan criticised the government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, claiming that key initiatives of the Centre meant for farmers had not been implemented in the state. The minister said the state government was “committing a sin” by not implementing schemes such as the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and other agriculture-related programmes of the central government.Chouhan further alleged that the West Bengal government was “not bothered” about the welfare of farmers and that the lack of implementation of central schemes was adversely affecting the farming community in the state.
