This year, Sharadiya Navratri 2025 will commence on Monday, 22nd September 2025, and conclude on Thursday, 2nd October 2025 (Vijayadashami/Dussehra).
Ghatasthapana Muhurat:
According to latitude and longitude, it is recommended at sunrise in Virgo ascendant or during Abhijeet Muhurat at noon.
Spiritual Significance:
Sharadiya Navratri is not just a festival of Goddess worship, but also an opportunity for self-purification, spiritual practice, and inner strength enhancement.
During these nine days, devotees practice controlling negative tendencies within themselves such as lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego.
Through fasting and meditation, both mind and body are purified, bringing stability and focus to spiritual practice.
Each form of the Goddess inspires us to face life's challenges and gain inner strength.
Religious Significance:
Navratri is considered the supreme festival of Shakti (divine power) worship.
According to the Puranas, Goddess Durga fought the demon Mahishasura for nine days during Navratri, defeating him on the tenth day, thereby establishing righteousness (Dharma) in the world.
Hence, Navratri symbolizes the victory of truth and the destruction of evil.
During this period, reciting Durga Saptashati, Devi Mahatmya, and Devi Bhagavat is considered highly auspicious.
Devotees believe that the Goddess visits the earth during this time and fulfills the sincere wishes of true devotees.
