The domestic share market ended on a flat note in the volatile session on Wednesday amid geopolitical concerns and fresh foreign fund outflows.At close, the Sensex was down 141.90 points or 0.19 percent at 75,867.80, and the Nifty was down 6.55 points or 0.03 percent at 23,907.15.
Hindalco Industries, Power Grid Corp, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle, Eternal, NTPC were the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included ONGC, ITC, HDFC Life, HDFC Bank, Wipro.On the sectoral front, media, power, capital goods added 3% each, while auto, metal, telecom up 1% each, while selling was seen in the IT, FMCG, banking, oil & gas names.Nifty Midcap index up 0.4% and Smallcap index ended with marginal gains, according to agency reports.
Rupee Close:
On 27 May'26,the Indian rupee settled on a flat note, higher by 2 paise to close at 95.68 against the US dollar on Wednesday, as renewed tensions between the US and Iran and delays in negotiations kept investors cautious.Forex traders said a strong American currency and weak domestic markets also pressured the rupee. Attention has shifted toward the upcoming RBI Monetary Policy Committee meeting scheduled between June 3 and 5, they said.
