The Indian share market traded lower for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, amid F&O expiry.At close, the Sensex was down 242.65 points or 0.33 percent at 72,529.07, and the Nifty was down 64.05 points or 0.28 percent at 22,716.20.
Dr Reddy's Labs, NTPC, Tata Steel, Adani Enterprises and Adani Ports were the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Titan Company, Eternal, HCL Technologies, HDFC Life, Infosys.On the sectoral front, except media, metal and pharma, all other sectoral indices ended in the red with Auto, Information Technology and Consumer Durables down over 1 percent each, according to agency reports. Broader markets underperformed the main indices with Nifty midcap index declining 0.6 percent and smallcap index falling 0.8 percent.
Rupee Close:
On 29 Sep'26,the Indian rupee closed nearly flat at 95.98 on Tuesday after hitting a two month low earlier in the session as crude oil prices continued to dictate the currency's momentum while likely central bank intervention limited weakness.Brent oil prices turned lower on the day, after touching a peak of nearly $108 per barrel.
