Rahul Gandhi releases Congress manifesto for Assam polls

In Guwahati,Congress leader  Rahul Gandhi on Saturday released the party's manifesto for the forthcoming Assam Assembly election and promised to bring in a law that will nullify the Citizenship Amendment Act if the party is voted to power.The Congress manifesto has also promised 5 lakh government jobs, a monthly income of Rs 2,000 to housewives and 200 units of free electricity.For tea garden workers, the Congress has promised a daily wage of Rs 365. Gandhi said his party will protect the idea of Assam that is being "attacked" by the BJP and RSS. Terming his party's manifesto as the "people's manifesto", Rahul Gandhi said the manifesto contains the "aspirations of the people of Assam".
