In Punjab,Congress seems to become a soap opera where one or the other leader come and criticised party and its leaders. Seior leader and former union minister Manish Tiwari on Sunday openly criticised his party’s Punjab unit and said he never saw “such chaos and anarchy”. In his tweets, Tiwari slammed the state government in Punjab and questioned the progress on issues like the 2015 sacrilege incidents, drug menace and power purchase pacts. He said that the Mallikarjun Kharge-led three-member committee formed by the Congress to end factionalism in its Punjab unit is "a serious error of judgement".Tewari also hit out former Punjab in- charge Harish Rawat and the state unit of the party. He said that Punjab Congress leaders are using "guttural language" against each other that "even fishwives would not use", and asked whether the party thought the people were not disgusted by the "daily soap opera".

Meanwhile, state Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu trained his guns at the state government and said that Punjab must come back to its "real issues that concern every Punjabi and our future generations". He said that a "financial emergency" was staring at the state. "I will stick to the real issues and not let them take a backseat," he said in a tweet.
