Modi launches PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infra Mission

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched PM Ayushman Bharat Infrastructure Mission from Varanasi with a total outlay of Rs 64180 crore. Addressing a public meeting after launching the scheme nationwide the Prime Minister said PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission aims to strengthen the critical healthcare network from village to block to the district to the regional and national level in the next four -five years.Modi said under this Mission his government will develop the network of treatment and critical care units in every nook and corner of the country with an aggressive approach. 
He said it will work to provide affordable, accessible and cheap holistic health care facilities in the country. The Prime Minister said through PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission an entire ecosystem for services from treatment to critical research will be created in every corner of the country. The Prime Minister lamented that those whose governments remained in the country for a long time, instead of the all-around development of the country's healthcare system, kept it deprived of facilities.  Modi said the mission will establish a system to tackle the menace of future pandemics. Modi said for serious illness, thirty thousand new critical care-related beds are being added in 600 districts and referral facilities will be given in 125 districts under this mission.

He said 730 districts of the country will get Integrated Public Health labs and three thousand blocks will get Block Public Health Units.  The Prime Minister also dedicated 28 development projects and works worth over 5189 crore for his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. Governor of UP Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya were also present in the function.
