Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has stressed on the importance of infrastructural development in the country and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government has given priority to the development of infrastructure sector. She was speaking on the occasion of transferring of loan of 5100 crore Rupees sanctioned by Punjab National Bank for Ganga Express way scheme in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. She also appreciated the way Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is taking development forward very effectively. She said that union budget has envisioned that through infrastructure development the country can come out of the ill effects of Covid Pandemic. The Finance Minister also said that Ganga Expressway will not only increase the connectivity but will also be very much helpful for the implementation of many schemes including the defence corridor. Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Ganga Expressway will be backbone of the state's economy.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman lauded the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching several women-centric schemes and giving women priority in several other schemes.She also appreciated PM Modi's move of inducting several women as ministers and said presently there are 11 women ministers in the Union Cabinet. Launching UP's Mission Shakti 3.0 programme, the Union Minister informed that in 2014, before becoming the Prime Minister of the country, Modi auctioned all the gifts he had received as Gujarat CM and donated the money for the education of girl children.
The Minister recalled that even as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Modi took several steps for women's empowerment in the state. She also ponted out whether it is Ujjwala scheme, Jan Dhan scheme or the MUDRA scheme, women are given priority in several schemes launched by the Centre. Speaking on the COVID vaccination drive, the Finance Minister said that many developed countries do not have vaccines and they are looking for doses, but due to Prime Minister Modis personal efforts, we are producing six vaccines in India.
