Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated Deoghar airport in Jharkhand. He also inaugurated the revamped Baba Baidyanathdham temple area under Prasad scheme of Ministry of Tourism. Modi inaugurated 13 development projects and laid foundation stones for 12 development schemes worth over Rs16000 crore. Addressing the audience, Modi said that the Development projects being launched in Jharkhand will significantly boost connectivity and ensure ease of living for the people, The Prime Minister said more than 1 crore citizens of the country have traveled by air under the UDAN scheme. He said that he is happy that flights have started from Kolkata to Deoghar from Tuesday. We shall soon start the flights from Kolkata, Patna, Dumka, Bokaro, Jamshedpur, and New Delhi soon, he added.
Addressing the occasion, Union Minister of Civil aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia said that with the inauguration of Deoghar airport the dreams of people of Santhal pargana are coming true. The airport starts functioning just before the beginning of Shravani Mela at Baba Baidyanathdham jyotirlinga, he added. He said that 14 new air routes will start in Jharkhand. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren thanked Prime Minister for bringing the common man's dreams true. Soren appreciated the collaborative efforts of centre and state to bring about development across the backward tribal dominant areas of the State.



After the inauguration, the Prime Minister left Baba Baidyanathdham temple to offer prayers.
