Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal held a series of high-level meetings with European industry leaders in Brussels on July 14-15, aimed at strengthening India-EU industrial cooperation, expanding trade opportunities and promoting technology partnerships on the sidelines of the India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) Ministerial.On July 15, Goyal, along with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada, participated in a Business Roundtable hosted by the Federation of Enterprises in Belgium (FEB).
The roundtable brought together leading Indian and European industry representatives to discuss trade facilitation, investment flows, resilient supply chains and digital innovation. Later, the Commerce Minister interacted with members of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) delegation at Hotel Steigenberger. Representatives of Indian industry shared their views on improving competitiveness, addressing regulatory challenges and leveraging opportunities under the TTC framework. Goyal reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting Indian businesses in expanding market access and fostering innovation-driven partnerships.
The Meeting further followed discussions on exploring avenues of opportunities in ports, maritime, semiconductors as well as broader cooperation for supply chain de-risking. Two Sides also exchanged their perspectives on global developments, including in West Asia.Dr Jaishankar also met European Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Síkela. Both leaders had discussions on advancing cooperation in connectivity, trilateral partnerships, IMEC and green shipping between the two nations.
