The domestic share market rebounded on Thursday, driven by broad-based buying across sectors, with the exception of auto and information technology stocks.At close, the Sensex was up 238.22 points or 0.31 percent at 76,741.82, and the Nifty was up 80.75 points or 0.34 percent at 23,962.80.
Sun Pharma Bharti Airtel InterGlobe Aviation, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Eternal were the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Infosys, Maruti Suzuki , NTPC and ONGC .On the sectoral front, the performance remained largely positive, with buying seen across most indices. Nifty Realty emerged as the top gainer, rising 3.5 percent, followed by Nifty Media (2 percent), Nifty PSU Bank (1.6 percent), Nifty Consumer Durables (1.6 percent), according to agency reports.Broader indices outperformed with Nifty Midcap 100 rising 1.4 percent and Nifty Smallcap 100 index gaining 1.8 percent.
Rupee Close:
On 9 Jul'26,the Indian appreciated by 7 paise to settle at 95.41 (provisional) against the U.S. dollar on Thursday even as crude oil prices firmed up and the greenback strengthened in the global markets.A recovery in the stock markets and dollar selling by state-run lenders supported the local currency amid rising volatility triggered by the fresh escalation in the West Asia crisis.
